The house is set amidst enchanting nature in the heart of France, 2,5 hours south of Paris. One can find deer, game, wild boar, falcons and many other wild animals here. The house is situated in a cul-de-sac, just a 5 minutes walk from the old picturesque village of Vesdun. A good recently restored restaurant, with a terrace opposite the Church is your watering hole. There’s also a small convenience store, where you can order freshly baked baquettes croissants and all products from this region.

The village of Vesdun is known for its old church, with its 12th century fresco’s.

Nearby you will find the lake of Sidiailles with its sandy shore, where you can hire boats or swim or go a ‘rope walking’ up and over the lake.  In St Amand-Montrond (former residence of Jacques Brel) you can explore the waters using a kayak.

If you’d like a change from the sound of the garden, with its birds, crickets and occasionally ringing churchbell, there will be plenty to explore and discover in the neighbourhood! The surrounding area offers plenty of flea markets and car boot sales,  there is always something to see or to do. Beautiful gardens, chateaux and abbey’s to visit – and don’t forget the numerous 10th and 11th century roman churches that have been built in this part of France. Lots of lakes and rivers for those who love fishing and there are a range of possibilities for those who enjoy horse riding and golf.
